Who is J.J. Sowers entertainer?
Born in Seoul Korean singer/songwriter J.J. sowers is rumored to have been abandoned at birth and left a door step of local police station. Eventually he was taken to the local orphanage and adopted by the Sowers family in Baltimore, Maryland at the tender age of six months. After spending many years playing baseball for the Yankee Rebels when he was thirteen after his adopted father passed away from lung cancer J.J. began dabbling in music. First writing lyrics, then with a used guitar and a $10 keyboard he began teaching himself the craft of song writing. While still in high school James began performing at the Club International and was featured on public access cable channel 99. Eventually J.J. began rapping and won a local rap contest. The prize was a performance at the world famous Apollo Theatre in Harlem, New York. There he performed an original rap song "She's a Tease". Although he did not win the excitement was enough to take him to the next logical step. So J.J. took on odd jobs after school and on weekends and scraped up enough money to record a three song demo at Back door studios in Laurel, Maryland. One of the songs was featured on 92Q's basement jams a weekly radio show where he was actually a live guest on the air. After less than the desired result he learned from the experience and made a second demo. After playing this demo for anyone who would listen, one of the songs ended up getting airplay on local college radio. Soon after J.J. got his first big break or so he thought. Shortly after signing a recording contract with "Heartfelt Records" the label folded the album "Struck by Lightning" never saw the light of day, leaving him once again back where he started no money, no job, and no label. Discouraged but not defeated J.J. freshly out of high school began working a full-time job while saving every penny to form his own independent record label. Eventually he purchased a professional sequencer and began production on his soon to be debut album "Infatuation". After recording around 40 songs he carefully selected 15 and started recording at Cue Studios in falls Church, Va. after the recording process was complete "Infatuation" was scraped and the album title was changed to "Notice Me and was released in August of 2004 on the RENEGADE RECORDS LABEL. The 1st single "Hello Hottie" received limited airplay on XM radio. One of the songs "Um' Sweet Thing" charted at as high as #41 on the Americanidolunderground pop charts and #10 on artist underground. Another song “ Ain’t nothing but a fantasy” reached #27. Songs for a follow up album titled "Resistance" were recorded in 2006 and an acoustic album titled "Fallen Out of reach" was recorded in 2007.Neither album was released Renegade Records was dissolved in December of 2007. James sophomore album BSK Records 2008 release "Any given night" was featured in the artist radio network and was available at the Fuzz via the internet. Fuzz.com closed down on Feb.12, 2009. Although disappointed J.J. has continued to develop his musical skills and is now on the local and regional charts in South Florida.
